View Full Version : There is something wrong with this forum

All the threads since the arse end of March have apparently been viewed the same amount of times as anyone has actually posted on the thread (original post + number of replies). The number of 'views' displayed doesn't increase with the actual number of times the thread is opened.

Loads of people will look at this thread (mainly because of the deliberately antagonistic title, sorry to disappoint/bore you) but it will say that it has been viewed only once. By me.

Now this to most of you will be of no concern, it is my "pedantry nodule" going into overdrive (I swear I am borderline OCD), but it makes the board look completely dead. It has been a bit quiet on here lately but it isn't going to encourage people to post if they think nobody is going to look at it. I know there are far more important things going on to worry about but please sort it, powers that be!

I noticed that yesterday too.... it is slightly disconcerting.

I have noticed the board has been a bit quiet of late too. I had not noticed the view/post thing. 10/10 on your OCD!!!

I was under the impression that this forum show the number of people who've viewed a thread not the number of actual views....

This is fixed now - the bit of the database that records the number of views had crashed. You'll see the counters start to go up now.

The views only get updated once an hour though so there may be some delay in the number of views increasing.

Unfortunatley I dont have anything to banter about, having being locked in a small room for several weeks with no chance of escape as my dissertation has to be in on 18th may...sorry.
