I can't make my mind up about it...

Tune selection wise, I love it, but it feels a little self indulgent in some respects and all over shop.... granted he's a producer first, but what do other people think that have heard it?

If anyone has been listening to his EVR show they would pick up his style. Alot of the stuff on there he has been battering on the show, some of it is random stuff thats inspired him to produce some of the thing she has done for aguillera, lilly allen, amy winehouse, robbie williams etc. I think ess mixs dont have to really be dancefloor, but this is a good break from alot of the dull mixes that have been up there recently..

p.s check the remix he has done of lily allens smile. sounds like an old stax record.

Great remix. His version of Zutons-Valerie is decent as well.

When he gets his hands on a good strong vocal he can do mad stuff with it.

It's definitely grown on me since yesterday...

I suppose it's all in the approach to it, reading the reviews by the sodomites on the actual essential mix site is highly amusing... it's general little fu(kwit hard house and trance kids wanting something 'banging' for two hours solid and don't realise that the Essential Mix isn't necessarily all about just putting out a 'dance' mix... it's good to listen... as Rich has already pointed out.

Loving the use of the Regina Spektor track too. :) :D

Thom Yorke - Black Swan is in there...

And the opening riff from 'Just' is certainly in there... but only Mark Ronson's version gets any extended air...

I had a similar problem. Couldn't work out if i really like or it just a bit shit.
But i have listened to it 3 or 4 times and I really like most of it.
A couple of dodgey tracks but i go for the crazy covers/remixes.
Hence my love of the jedi. (His star wars EM is one of the best in my opinion!)

I be interested to hear a club set from him (Ronson).
You gonna hook us up rich?

I love it in places but there's some pretty lame moments in there as well. The Thom Yorke track is quality.

Nice one for the eastvillage radio tip - listening to Friday's mix now. Would defo be into a mark ronson chibuku set. His cover of 'Just' was one of my favourite tracks of last year....

in my opinion it was the best minimix ever done. the idea of using all the same songs by different artist is quite simple when you think about it now. but its never been done on a minimix before. so therefore it was genius. and as most of you are liverpudlians i would think you would all appreciate the hey jude tribute introduction!?

well i think mark ronson is awesome and am looking forward to seeing him soon, hats off to you mr ronson from southport.

I remember at the isle of MTV event at nation a few years back when he played, his set was outstanding..mad skills. But after his set was done i think Cash Money was DJ'in and Ronson was just lampin by the speakers out front, me and a couple of mates started chattin to him got a photo or three, he was really sound just a regular guy although very fresh!
