also reports that only one person was injured on the bus - that being a person holding a large bag and (apparantly) a detonator in it.
if this is true, its a shame they didnt die.

this is weird.
three tube explosions and a bus explosion, but just with detonators. with any luck this will just be a copycat spotty nerd who has an anarchist cookbook, and not anything more serious and that we are not going to have to live under the continual threat of these incidents happening with increasing frequency.
don't feel the fear.

Still most of the tube network, and all buses (only exception is northern line) are running, albeit limited services, so shouldnt be as mad as last week

We need to start negotiating, the terrorist networks currently have our capital city held to randsom. Dont really see how we can prevent these attacks - even if they are small-scale they still shut down one of the major cities in the world causing massive disruption. Very worrying times :?

These aren't people you can negociate with. Al Qaeda isn't a group, it's a state of mind. Besides, we've hot nothing to negociate with-Britain and the US clearly aren't going to leave Iraq, we've got a bout as much chance of resolving the Palestininan issue as we have George Bush becoming a Mullah and we aint going to pull troops out of Saudi Arabia.
The only wayt to stop this sort of action is for us to address the numerous pan-contiental issues which act as a rallying call to so called Jihadists (I find it particularly funny that Jihad means holy war-who the f*ck goes to church any more, the crusades were a long time ago). As our governments clearly aren't willing to admit they've done anything wrong, we now face the punishment of having to live in a quasi-police state and face the prospect of a bomb going of every time we walk down the street akin to Beiruit.
Unfortuatly, we are all being punished (in the bomber's eyes) for the ramifications of our government's actions. Violence begets violence.

It just strikes me that if both sides are not willing to stand down, or even make concessions then there can be no end to the violence. I think it probably is too late to negotiate with Al-Qaeda and friends, but I think our governments definitely need to covertly change the way in which they operate. I think the future is perhaps with young people, I'm not sure how but a means must be found in which to stop them converting to extremism.
The worst thing is its usually the benevolent ones on both sides who suffer from the poor decision making of their leaders, who arguably nearly always operate within the endless realms of self-interest. I think the way in which the US lead coalition invaded Iraq has only given the extremists prolific funding, justification and recruits. Profits will be made from Iraq no doubt but the cost in human life and world stability has been drastic to say the least. I also think this is only going to become worse before it gets better, though it probably dosnt take a genius to work that out...

Totally agree. However, we have leaders that consider these bombings as vindication for the "War on Terror" instead of being the symtom of a wider issue. Stubborn bastards=No end.
