Just settling in to the kiboko lodge, after the mother of all journeys via nairobi and zambia, in the 'library' which is a hut full of bongos and luggage. Things to have gone wrong so far - we are camping as they only reserved a room for me, although i have emails which prove it was there mistake, meade has left all of his underwear socks and towels at home, jerome has left his sleeping bag and I have not brought any rizlas which are impossible to get over here. Aside from that all is good, just bought a round for 6 peopler and it was the same price as a pint back home. How was creamfields? Will provide further updates when i can

Mickey/hyder faith anyone can you please get someone to bring 10 packets of king size silver rizlas. desperatley needed. We are resorting to smoking using dried palm tree leaves. Had the most random mission ever on our first night, got pissed at harrys bar and me and meade played paper scissors rock to ask the taxi driver to get us some green. He took us miles away into a proper shanty town, just mud huts and 6 ft geezers standing around burning oil drums keeping warm. Then we pulled up to a hut and the taxi driver got out, then walked back over with 5 of his mates. Iu was papping it. But nothing happened he just got in and drove us back. Half an oscar for under #10. In Blantyre about to climb mulanje tomorrow, its happy hour so all drinks are 25p. Hahahaha!!!! Please Bring Rizlas!!!! Did Chibuku win the football at cfields by the way?

Hey everyone!! Yes as Leonard has said we are going to set off from Blantyre tomorrow morning to go and climb the mountain in the south and then work our way up the festival, quite a culture shock initially, but everyone is so friendly, take obvious safety measures at night, but having a great time so far!!!!

Plans i think for the next few days is to spend 3 days trekking on the mountain in malanjie, then come back to Blantyre and then head further North to the national park of Llwande, supposed to have the best safaris, but isn't the best for seeing the big five, apparently its best to go into Zambia for that. Think spend the night there taking in a boat cruise in which you can see lots of elephants and hippos and then head further North to Senga bay or to Cape Maclear, so if anyone thinks they want to meet up with us all those 2 places would be good, will be about Monday that we get there so keep all the folks over here posted on what your plans are.

Managed to get one set in already at Harry's bar in Lilongwe, had far too many greens though (Carlsberg), really good night! Nice bar to check out!! We got lashed far too early though as the sun sets very early and it seems so much later than it actually is, so by the time it was 11pm it seemed like 4 in the morning and we were hammered!! Enjoying the happy hour at the moment at Doogles, tried Chibuku shake shake the drink for the first time today, your all in for a treat!!!

Safe journey all and see you soon!

damo didn't get any food before he left and he had to trek across san an twice with a full record bag as we went to change restaurants.

couldn't have been arsed with his mission, but i'm sure it'll be worth it.

he was ruined and nearly fell asleep for the last hour of his last set at bar m.

perked up for his stint in the manumission toilets though.

just.

Had some news from Roxy...

Chesney has had his willy out alot.

Spandex Man is very very sunburnt and has weeping blisters on his back that pop when you walk past him :? sounds like the plague to me.

Faith and Steve got up on stage and sang at the festival.

The lads robbed a boat and took it out to sea which nearly got them thrown off the festival site.

Nice to know they're setting a good example of us all then - typical night in Liverpool... Who needs Malawi?

so i havent arrived home yet? doh!

it was a incredible 3 weeks that has been. done so much, seen loads and had some pretty wicked experiences - ie being on a small boat surrounded by hippo's, croc's and elephants at the same time!!

festival was pretty amazing. the kids from the children of the wilderness doing their show on the saturday afternoon was really cool. seein our money go to them is quality. the whole andy cato rumour mill was funny as fuck. heard about 10 different stories why he was late, funniest being he was to big to get on the plane  nice of him to play superstylin twice as damo was ill in bed apparently when he first played it.

i even had a local lady of the nite try to get my business on the last nite  "hey daaarling, where you go after here? " *shudder*

time for bed now as work starts again tomoz :( and prob most importantly a bath as i stink

Too right, you fucking stank when I left you at Heathrow

Malawi was amazing!!!!!

Indeed, Lenoir did have horrid sunburn on his back, but refused all offers of aftersun or calomile lotion so..... :?

Charlie and Lenoir also got offered the chance to catch the next flight home as ours was full out of Nairobi - 300$ each, top night in hotel, free day and night in nairobi - so after the mammoth wait in nairobi to fly home, they decided to stay another night! loads of other people would have done it, but they only needed 3 people

Andy Cato appearing on stage on Sun saying "I dont know what you've all been hearing about me getting pissed on a plane and not being able to get here, its all bollocks, its taken me 3 days to get here, so lets go out in style....." - opening bars of superstlyin' - hundreds of people leaping to their feet from the bar and legging it down to the stage!! quality!!! and then rewinding it when damo was feeling better

leo's hardcore proof of wil and charlie dancing like nutters on the side of the stage to superstylin' - photo is awesome!!!!

oh my goodness jonny1move and the beat monkeys were absolutely amazing too! although mickeys contortionist moves were quite odd, the ability to cover your own back in suncream is no doubt very useful tho!!!!!!

everybody being absolutely battered and watching the sun come up at chintchethe - and then trying to steal a boat to make the trip back to kande!!!

meeting all the children of the wilderness kids at the festival, and then seeing all the aids clinics on our safari and donating all our medical supplies to them.

i've got 300 photos!!! i'll post some up soon :D

Yeah, back from Malawi in one piece, although the amount of injuries i've given myself is not funny!!! Nice to be able to eat English food again though, don't think my bowels could handle anymore African food!!! Thank god for quilted toilet tissue in this country!!

Highlights for me was playing back to back with Johnny 1 Move in the bar on Sat night, the festival as a whole (except the food stall that sold me a dodgy jumbo jambo burger which gave me food poisoning!!!), Steve Moody highly encouraging everyone to get the boat back on the beach after taking it out for a quick spin, how did it go, "COME ON YOU FOOKIN PUSSIES!!!!", Tom trying to hold the HOTTEST Malawian chilli sauce in his mouth after Moody threw it down his throat! I've never seen a man cry like that before! Climbing Mulanjie mountain, elephants up close,...........the list goes on and on and on and on........Hopefully see everyone at Kelly's for a bit of a reunion!!

YOU'RE LOVIN' IT, I'M LOVIN IT, THE FRIGGIN MALAWI MINISTRY OF TOURISM IS LOVIN IT! They gone and awarded the festival the Malawi Tourism Award 2004!

Huge thank you to everyone who ventured out into the heart of Africa and made the event one of the best things to happen in Malawi in the last 15 years. The last week I spent with the Malawi Tourism Association, Apex Hire who have a fleet of 4 x 4's and minibuses with free drivers that'll cost about £3 a day each, checking out football stadiums for next year's city parties, and generally getting the feedback from everyone who went to the festival. They are all well impressed - especially with all the loons who came over from the UK.

The dates are set for next year - Fri 9th - Sun 11th September. Flights will cost less and the line-up will be bigger. More info soon to come on www.lakeofstarsfestival.co.uk (and we'll start getting the photos put up on there too).

Will and Dylan at Mocha are busy editing down the 300 hours footage they have and the Lake of Stars film should be ready by the end of November.

Reunion party will also be happening soon - end of October. We'll get flyers out...
