Last weeks epic Champions League Final was out of this world.
My Brother, Friend & Myself were at The Hope & Anchor in Maryland St & really looking forward to the match when on Sky ( not a bug fan due to Andy 'Everton' Gray ) gave the line ups of Sicknote & Heeddown upfront..!!

Well that got me down the game kicks off & then kicks off again..!! 1 - 0

Well I've had enough cause teams from Italy don't lose games from 2 - 0 down esp. in
European Football. The bar is getting a bit moody this is down to some Everton Fans
( don't you just HATE them ) with smiles on their faces. Also a sort of Ex - Girlfriend was in the bar & looking at me after every Liverpool miss pass / Milan good section of play. This did not help my mooood.

So I left my friend, due to his credit my brother wanted to stay but I've seen Bars go T.N.T after Liverpool vs. Man U.S.A games when Liverpool have outplayed. So with this knowladge we walked all the way from Maryland St to Parliment St / Park Rd. got in a Taxi then got a text.... I was thinking it was a mistake leaving that Bar my lucky Liverpool Bar, why did I not stand by my club. Text read:

I’d consider myself to be an objective fan and the following is true, all banter aside.
There is no best team in the city. Too close to say for sure. League table doesn’t lie. You won a cup competition and that’s it. A 'goal' that wasn’t in the semis to get to the final, in which you were completely outplayed bar a few minutes in which you superbly scored 3 goals. If it were not for those few minutes your whole season would have been deemed a failure and you fcuking know it. Or maybe your head is so far up your own arse you don’t?

Now the dust has settled though I would like to think (though very doubtful) that all the Liverpool fans of late speaking of their 'greatness' can admit that they were a team that played to their strengths and had great team work, but that’s it. They are not the best team in Europe. They are the 5th best team in England. For sure I would give anything to see Everton win the CL but prob won’t happen any time soon. If we do though I would like to think I’d be realistic about how good we actually are, a concept that a lot of reds seem unable to grasp.

I am neither a red or blue fan of liverpool, but i admit that i was sceptical about Liverpool winning the cup as i couldnt 'handle' the 'red' fans gloating etc.

thankfully, the majority of 'red' fans at work were either ungover or couldnt quite believe it that the 'gloating' never occured. i began to feel the the 'red' fans weren't asbad as i first thought, with their 'living in the past' etc.
