Lethal B is a bit of a bitch trying to cause shit between his crew (more fire) and wiley and the roll deep bhoys, but that track is phat i'm loving grime at the minute i was down hackney way and heard some stuff by plasticman (not richie hawtin) it was pure grime! d double e is on fire at the minute as well just hope shite acts like taz and syhstie don't get labelled as grime and take the crediblity away from the scene!

I thought a few people would slag of anything to do with grime on this board cause its too closely associated with UKG. Im actually listen to a Roll Deep mix at the mo with Wiley and Dizzee MCing on it. quite good.
The forward rythm is the biggest tune in that scene for the last couple of months.
I know im gonna prob get slagged off now but Grime is the only innovative music in the british club scene at the mo. Created by youth on East end council estates with lots of expression and talent.
If your into Grime one to watch for next couple of months is Kano, in my opinion hes the best Mc on that scene and got potential to be big as dizzee.

I don't think Taz considers himself as Grime it certainly dosnt sound like grime but knowing the media it could easily get labelled as grime, to tell the truth i quite like him. Shystie not really feeling shes been tipped for big things first tune "step back" ok next tune was swag.

Am i gettin old and past it - what the **** is Grime?
A kind of hybrid sound of jungle/garage/two step/hip hop and bashment with minimal production spawned from London east end estates and popularised by people such as Dizzee Rascal/ wiley and a lot of the Streets production to an extent.
To tell you the truth ive heard it been called about a hundred names by my cousins in London, ive heard sub-zero, edgy, eski beats, eskimo, sub low, stank and grime etc.

Grime is the most innovative music coming out of britian right now absolutely no doubt about it! like it or not it is truly new music!
My issue with taz is that his record label have obviously seen dizzee rascal and thought right lets get our own ghetto youth out there making money for us, whereas true emcees to the scene i.e. kano, d double e, crazy titch, jookie mundo et al are only getting attention off the street and pirate radio
in response to who is the best emcee at the moment i think d double e is so mint his flow and delivery are top truly unique he's like the obd of the grime/eski/dubstep scene, kano is top notch too don't get me wrong! watch out for ears from the N.A.S.T.Y crew he's gonna blow soontime anyone know an online distributor of grime? picked up some plasticman stuff in bow but i'm up north most of the year!

Totally agree D Double E is wicked and most people you ask who are into the scene say hes the best or Kano is. But i don't think hes got the cross over potential Kano has if you know what i meen. His flows are too ghetto. Kanos already appeared on tracks with the Streets supported them in shows and i heard hes either going on tour or been on tour with Basement Jaxx.

yep dig the kano crossover potential, he's mad talent! D double E is pure harsh thats why i thinks he's top notch but one guy that beats hi for harshness is gods gift his voice is so painful! ordered the new plasticman 12 yesterday 'cha' you heard much of him?

Heard a bit about plasticman don't know too much though, what did you think of the crazy titch diss and dizzee's answer back. The whole Grime scene has got a lot of parralel with early hip-hop, with the circumstances with its come about and the Mc battles and stuff.

only heard the crazy titch thing it was pretty harsh, you can tell by the way he spat that he meant it! The comparisons are fair between early hip hop and grime, i think grime will take off because it is undeniably british it isn't trying to be like anything else at all unlike british hip hop which is good now but used to be just a really bad rip off of american hip hop from production to emcees accents! that plasticman tune is solid, only thing that i don't like about grime is the tracks that are purely instrumental i like dubstep instrumental like morph resurrection et al because its like grime breakbeat but grime with no lyrics just sounds too plain, still love it though!
