MARK XTC.....


Mark started his DJ-ing career at the tender age of 15 playing in places such as Sequins (Blackpool), Fantazia, Mythology and The legendary Hacienda, where in the late 80’s he won the North West DMC DJ Championships. This is when he decided that DJ-ing was his life. He then started producing his own music with his DJ group “The Mix Factory” (of Sunset 102fm) where his mix of the Mix Factory track “Take Me Away” reached number 41 in the UK singles chart and also gained some success in the American charts. As well as producing he has DJ’ed all over the world for example annually in Malia, Ibiza, Brussels and across Europe for some awesome nights such as Helter Skelter, Dreamscape, The Eclipse, Pure X and Fantazia. Mark was also helping to spread the sound of music in the northwest by managing both Spin Inn and Eastern Bloc record shops. This is when “DA INTALEX” were born. Two guys doing what they loved, producing and spinning Drum and Bass all around the world. DA INTALEX presented a Friday and Monday night drum and bass show on Kiss 102 which changed to Galaxy 102 from 1993-2000. DA INTALEX founded Intalex Recordings with tunes being brought out constantly, such as “I Like It Remix”. “New Dawn” was released on Jump Up Records and also “What You Gonna Do” on Flex, which has gone down in history as one of the “all time top ten drum and bass tunes”. Sadly DA INTALEX went there separate ways but Mark signed to Dread Recordings/Penny Black Records with DJ Ray Keith releasing music such as the “Come On E.P” which gained mark interest from the mighty Dillinja himself who then signed mark to Valve/Beatz Recordings and released “Keyz” and “Roll Dem Beatz”. Mark has also released tunes on many other labels including Moving Shadow, Integral, Hard Leaders, Penny Black and Dread. .................................................. .................................................. ............................... Mark is currently a full time lecturer at Manchester College teaching Dj Skills and Audio Technology/Midi, he works with children from all walks of life sharing his passion for music with them. His dj-ing skills also help keep the Manchester dnb/rave scene alive with him being a regular DJ at such established nights as Metropolis and Platoon and many other North West drum and bass/oldskool nights, his old skool jungle sets are definitely ones not to miss! Mark is still djing at many other venues playing classic house sets, with the likes of Ratpack, Slipmatt and Stu Allen, but of course he is mainly renowned for his drum and bass sets. Mark is started producing music again and has some wicked beats up his sleeves that will be out in the near future so watch this space…

What a naughty night!!!!!!! mad start to finish!!! complete mixed crowd of peeps, good to see mr the 8th, santicles, rich and all the other nwdnb massive! utter sets of filthyness! from ds & doughnutburger/furness & venom, baaaaaaaaad set!!!! ds back in the game! and what can you say about sman & ajay vs frisk & rita - beautiful set!!!!! worked a reet treat! and ajay man what was that tune that got rewound??????? it went off like a rocket man!!!!

Mark XTC, after being delayed because he ended up in Bootle, lol! was well worth the wait! pure legend and such a safe guy! With a nice set of ol/new skool. And finally Erbs and Kronika what a fooking heavy set to round the night off!!!!! Blew everyone away! Filthy as! Plus special props to Eddie P each and everytime!!!!! You had the place rocking man on your Rockstars!!!!! Lethal liquid that stuff - speed in a can! Also Heavy Rot8tions new resident Tony Skank! So clear on the mic its shocking with his lyrical flow always keeping the crowd raving! Roll on the next one!!!!
