Here's an introduction to the very first Fringe Festival...
Mathew Street Fringe Festival 08
Forget what you thought you knew about the Mathew Street Festival as we
present to you the Mathew Street Fringe. Trusty, reliable Mathew Street
Festival is the music of the daytime, taking pictures outside The Cavern to
a soundtrack of tribute acts and Beatles covers, while the Fringe is
everything that happens at night. We have Liverpool's hottest bands playing
in the city's hippest venues. We give you the bands that people are
whispering about, breaking boundaries and playing the kind of music that NME
has to employ a think tank to come up with a genre title for.
With the close knit spacing of the venues in town you can hop from Bumper to
Barfly, cross the road to Zanzibar or stroll to Korova, there's no excuse.
The Fringe runs from Saturday 23rd August to Monday 25th August in venues
across town. There is something for everyone so come on down and enjoy the
new sounds of Liverpool in this 3 day Festival. We also have a limited number
of USB sticks to give away before the Fringe weekend, stay tuned
